About Five Dice
Five Dice is a scorecard game built around a simple choice: roll five dice up to three times, keep the useful ones, and put the result into one of thirteen boxes. Each box can be used only once, so a strong roll may still lead to a hard decision. This kind of game belongs to an old family of dice games that includes Generala, widely played in Latin America, and Yacht. A single roll of five fair dice shows five of a kind in just 6 of 7,776 possible ordered results: 1 in 1,296. Re-rolling held dice makes that rare pattern more reachable, but it still takes planning.
How to play
On your turn, tap Roll to roll all five dice. Tap any dice you want to hold; held dice keep their values on the next roll. You may re-roll the others twice, or stop early. Then tap one empty score box. The preview number is exactly what that box will receive, even if it is zero. Filled boxes never change. There are thirteen rounds, and each player fills one box per round. The highest total wins. Equal totals are a draw.
In the upper section, Ones through Sixes add only dice showing that number. If those six boxes total at least 63, you gain a 35 point bonus. In the lower section, Three of a kind and Four of a kind score the sum of all five dice when the required match exists. Full house is exactly three of one number and two of another, for 25. A four-number sequence scores 30 in Small straight; a five-number sequence scores 40 in Large straight. Five of a kind scores 50. Chance scores the sum of all dice. A later five of a kind gets no extra bonus or special rule.
Choose Vs computer, Solo, Daily, or 2 players. In a two-player game, pass the screen after each turn. The Daily uses the UTC date for its dice, making the same choices yield the same rolls for everyone that day. On phones, tap dice, Roll, and score boxes. With a mouse, click them. With a keyboard, use 1–5 to hold dice, R to roll, Up and Down to move through score boxes, and Enter or Space to use the focused control. U undoes the last box, H shows a hint, and N starts a new game. Undo also takes back the computer's reply when needed.
Tips
Three of each face in the upper section adds to exactly 63, the bonus threshold. Try to keep pace with that target. Save Chance for a bad roll that still has a useful total. When a roll is weak, putting zero in a low-value box can protect a harder box for later. With 3 and 4 already showing, consider holding them while chasing a straight. A pair can grow into a full house or a larger match. A hint can suggest what to hold or where to score, and Undo lets you reconsider a placement.
